The Oregon Trail

The Oregon Trail was a tough time for many people they lost land and family. Some survived through diseases but most did not. They traveled many miles to get to a new home.

Traveling is a big change from then and now. Back then, they had to use wagons to travel from one place to another. Now we use cars to travel. Time when traveling was a huge difference because back then, they had to go so far and it took so much time. Now days we can go that far in less than half that time. When they were traveling, they did not have stops to refill needed items they had to bring all the items with them. Now we have gas stations all over the world.

They suffered from many diseases like Cholera, Measles, and lots more. Now days we have vaccinations for all of those. Communication was Very difficult back then they did not have phones to text or call people they had to either send a letter or wait to see the person.

When the pioneers traveled, they were limited on food they had no refrigeration, freezing or anything like that we have now days. They had what wouldn’t spoil fast. Now days we have more options to go to and restaurants.
